"Guts", the first single from SA’s debut album ARCANE WISDOM (11/19/21), is a veritable thrill-ride bridging the past and present of jazz-fusion lineage. An underpinning of cosmic funk sets the stage for an exploratory solo by keyboardist and composer Ben Tweedt, followed by a time-bending drum excursion from Devon Leigh. In the song’s final moments, Brandon Coleman’s soaring, melodic guitar propels the piece into the stratosphere.
